MISSION

Where CTRI is Coming from
Creative Television of Rhode Island, Inc. was founded in 1983, as an organization dedicated to providing area film and video enthusiast with a practical outlet to showcase their talents, abilities, and work. The promise was that there would be new opportunities for creating television programming via the coming of cable. Since then, CTRI has presented films, provided video production training, collaborated with Performing Artists, worked with other non-profit agencies, advocated the use of Public Access, advocated use of emerging technologies, and has created a library of its own original programs, including; music, comedy, and documentaries programs.

CTRI teaches through practical experience, all aspects of media including; on-camera talent technique, production, post-production, and marketing.

CTRI is building an International media program/network from its natural, international base, Newport and Providence, R.I. with Fall River, Ma. in between.

CTRI maintains a talent/skills resource bank of its membership. And will provide Producers, Directors, Casting agencies with contact information of its members interested in being part of production crews, or its members interested in being on-camera talent. Non-profit, or Corporate CTRI membership is required to access this information, depending on your business structure.

Beginning in the year 2003, we would like to open our membership to any English speaking individual or entity world-wide through the Web. We would like to accept for presentation on cable; foreign language films and videos with sub titles. CTRI was denied funding because the funders never heard of streaming video, something we were doing as early as 1998. In 2005, two guys created YouTube. Hence you'll find CTRI videos on Youtube. Good for them!
